Jo's Story

       This is Jo. She was brought to the Eau Claire County Humane Association on January 18, 2002. The reason her owners gave for surrendering her was that she was having stillborn puppies and was no longer of use to them. She wasn't bringing in enough money any more.

       This poor girl came into us extremely scared, as she hadn't been socialized much with people in her life. Her only purpose was to produce litter after litter of puppies. Jo's story ended up having a happy ending when she was adopted into a very loving home--a home that is showing her exactly how special she is.

       Too many other dogs in our state don't get the happy ending that Jo got. They are living the same life that Jo had to endure before coming to our shelter. No dog deserves this inhumane and cruel treatment.

       YOU have the power to make the puppymills and backyard breeders give these dogs better care. I truly hope you will stand up and be a voice for dogs like Jo who do not have a voice.
